Brian Zamora, M.D./Ph.D. is a vitreoretinal surgeon, specializing in diseases and surgery of the retina, including 
  diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, retinal tears and detachments, macular holes, epiretinal membranes 
  and other diseases of the retina and vitreous.
  After graduating summa cum laude from the University of Kentucky’s Honors Program with a B.S. in Agricultural 
  Biotechnology, Dr. Zamora went on to complete the combined M.D./Ph.D. program at West Virginia University in 
  Morgantown. There, his research focused on embryonic retinal development using transgenic mouse models. He 
  next completed his Ophthalmology Residency training at the University of Cincinnati / Cincinnati Eye Institute 
  where he served as Chief Resident and earned the Resident Research and Resident Educator Awards. Dr. Zamora 
  then moved to the Triad region to complete a 2-year vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at Wake Forest Baptist 
  Medical Center, logging hundreds of surgical cases, teaching residents and medical students, and participating in 
  numerous clinical research trials.
  Dr. Zamora is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, NC Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, 
  American Society of Retina Specialists, as well as other medical professional societies and organizations. He 
  believes in providing state-of-the-art medical and surgical retinal care in a compassionate and patient-centered

  Dr. Zamora is originally from Charleston, WV and outside of Ophthalmology and the practice of vitreoretinal 
  medicine and surgery, he enjoys musical performance, golf, hiking/outdoor activities, and college sports. Dr. Brian 
  Zamora is married to Dr. Ellen Zamora, a general dentist, and they have two young sons.
